MARCH - MAY
The early spring has proven to be outstanding
months for yellowfin tuna and the occasional
wahoo. This time of year we usually fish in water
temperatures from the mid-50’s to the upper 70’s.
As we get into May, the water temperatures
begin to warm up. This means gaffer dolphins,
big wahoo, and the first billfish action of the
season. Yellowfin tuna are also caught
frequently in May. This is an excellent month for
a mixed bag of fish.

MONTH BY MONTH FISHING
JUNE - SEPTEMBER
As the water gets warmer comes the best
of our marlin fishing. Along with the marlin
are plenty of dolphin, wahoo, and the
occasional tuna.
The inshore fishing this time of year is
excellent. Plenty of Spanish mackerel,
bluefish, and world-class cobia fishing.

OCTOBER - DECEMBER
As we fish into October and November, the
water temperatures begin to fall a bit. This
brings lots of king mackerel, yellowfin tuna, and
bluefin tuna. King Mackerel, caught on live bait,
using light tackle, is one of my personal favorite
fisheries. Seeing a king hit a live bait right next
to the boat never gets old.

These months are good yellowfin tuna fishing
and your best shot at catching a giant bluefin
tuna.
The winter months also bring world class
striped bass fishing in Hatteras Inlet and at
Cape Point. Nothing is better than rockfish
for supper!
